Pressure in the workplace is forcing the romance out of people's lives.
Onrec reports a survey of more than 2,000 workers found nearly two in five thought stress brought on by jobs spoils the time spent with their partner.
A quarter claimed they felt expected to put their work life ahead of their home life but a defiant nine percent said they insisted on putting their love lives ahead of their careers. Nearly a third said they tried to keep their job and their private lives separate.
Suggestions for ensuring work does not interfere with romance include making time for your partner on special occasions, planning work around realistic timeframes and saying "no" to projects which do not fit into your workload.
